You could think of the Continental GT as the quintessential British grand tourer. No other car combines such incredible craftsmanship and comfort with such thrilling performance – not to mention the sleek design that has made the car famous. Offering the ideal balance of luxury, power and practicality, the Continental GT is one of four models in the Continental GT range. It lines up against the Continental GT Azure, which includes additional comfort and wellbeing features, the phenomenally powerful Continental GT Speed, and the unrivalled Continental GT Mulliner, the pinnacle of GT craftsmanship.

Wherever you look on the Continental GT, you will see details that contribute to one of the most admired car designs of the last two decades. They range from the gloss black Bentley matrix grille and elliptical quad tailpipes to the 21" Five Tri-Spoke wheels fitted as standard. While most of these exterior details are finished in polished chrome, there is also the option to add the Blackline Specification, which swaps out chrome in favour of black.

Inside the car, Crown Cut Walnut veneers sweep up majestically from the centre console, spreading out across the fascia and into the doors. Alternatives include high-gloss woods that can be fitted with gleaming metal overlays, open-pore woods for a more minimalist feel and a choice of technical materials, including carbon fibre. Five beautiful leather upholstery colours are available, including Beluga, a rich black and Cricket Ball, a deep red. Embroidery, piping and contrast stitching are available as options too – an opportunity to add the perfect finishing touch.

Stylish it may be, but the Continental GT is also a ferociously powerful car, boasting 542 bhp (550 PS), 0-60 in 3.9 seconds (0-100 km/h in 4.0 seconds) and a top speed of 198 mph (318 km/h)*. In Sport mode, the car offers a highly responsive driving experience, while Comfort mode prioritises ride comfort. Bentley mode delivers an optimal blend of the two, and Custom allows you to create your own mode by fine-tuning the settings yourself.

The optional Bentley Dynamic Ride anti-roll system keeps the car level, with limited body roll when you take corners – yet all without compromising ride comfort when cruising on a straight road.

The Continental GT is equipped with Apple CarPlay* to allow for seamless integration with your phone. You can charge compatible phones with the wireless charging feature and – signal-permitting – enjoy in-car internet, thanks to the built-in Wi-Fi hotspot. My Bentley connected services include Online radio and over-the-air map updates for the satnav.

The City Specification is installed as standard. Focused on urban driving, it includes a 360º Top View Camera, Park Assist, alerts for obstacles you might encounter while reversing and Traffic sign recognition**.

Your Continental GT should reflect your taste, and Bentley makes this easy with an extensive range of personalisation options. It starts with the colour of your car, of course – and here, the choice is impressive, to say the least. As well as the seven colours that are offered as standard, there are over 80 colours to choose from when you consider options from the extended range, as well as satin and pearlescent finishes from Mulliner.

A host of wheel designs are available and, for extra stopping power, you can add Carbon Ceramic Brakes with striking red or black callipers. Other optional features include LED Welcome Lamps, a panoramic sunroof or the Styling Specification, which adds a sleek carbon fibre body kit to the car’s exterior.

Inside, you can choose from a wide range of hides, stitching styles, piping and embroidery, alongside technology options including the Front Seat Comfort Specification, which adds electrically adjustable headrests, cushions and side bolsters, plus ventilation and massage functions.
